What Goes Into a PSL Rating
Ratings are built from traits that can be described consistently between faces:
- Symmetry between corresponding left and right features
- Vertical thirds and midface proportion
- Eye area, including canthal tilt and eye spacing
- Jawline, chin, and cheekbone definition
- Nose, lips, hairline, and skin quality
- Standout strengths and weaknesses, known as halos and failos
How the Rating Scale Works
Ratings cluster tightly. Most people land between 3 and 5, and each point above 5 covers a far smaller share of the population, so half a point matters more at the top of the scale than in the middle. Limitations and Subjectivity
PSL ratings come from online attractiveness communities rather than from published research, and the tier thresholds are conventions rather than measured population data.
