Golden Ratio Face Calculator
Enter six simple measurements and see how closely your facial proportions match phi, the 1.618 golden ratio, with a score for each ratio.
Calculate Your Golden Ratio Score
Hairline to bottom of the chin
Widest point across the cheekbones
Corner to corner, lips relaxed
Widest point across the nostrils
Base of the nose to bottom of the chin
Centre of the lips to bottom of the chin
Fill in all six measurements to see your phi harmony score.
How the Golden Ratio Face Test Works
Each pair of measurements is divided to produce a ratio, and each ratio is compared with phi (1.618). The closer a ratio sits to phi, the higher its sub-score; the three sub-scores are averaged into your overall phi harmony score.
Golden Ratio vs Your Real Rating
Phi is a proportion heuristic, not a rating. A high phi score with poor symmetry or a weak jawline will not translate into a high tier. For a broader estimate, run the free PSL test or the free facial symmetry test, then compare against the PSL scale tiers. You can also check your facial thirds and canthal tilt.
Golden Ratio Face FAQ
What is the golden ratio of the face?
The golden ratio, phi, is approximately 1.618. In facial aesthetics it is used as a reference for proportions such as face length to face width, or mouth width to nose width.
How is a golden ratio face score calculated?
This tool compares each ratio you enter against 1.618, converts the percentage deviation into a 0-100 sub-score, and averages the sub-scores into an overall phi harmony score.
Does the golden ratio really predict attractiveness?
Only loosely. Phi is a useful heuristic for proportional harmony, but real ratings depend on many traits at once, including symmetry, jawline definition, eye area, and skin quality.
What is the ideal face length to width ratio?
Around 1.6 for both men and women, meaning the face is roughly 1.6 times as long as it is wide at the cheekbones. Much wider or much longer than that tends to read as unbalanced.
How do I measure my face for this calculator?
Use a straight-on photo at eye level and measure in one consistent unit. Only the ratios matter, so pixels, millimetres, or inches all give the same result.
Is this golden ratio calculator free?
Yes. It is completely free, works in your browser without signup, and none of your measurements are uploaded or stored.
