How to Measure Canthal Tilt From a Photo
- Take a front-facing photo at eye level with a neutral expression and no head tilt.
- Open the photo in any editor or viewer that shows cursor pixel coordinates.
- Hover the inner corner of one eye and note its X and Y values.
- Do the same for the outer corner of the same eye.
- Enter both points above. The tool returns the angle between them in degrees.
What Your Canthal Tilt Means
Canthal tilt is one of the most discussed eye-area traits in looksmaxxing because it changes how alert and dominant the eyes read. Positive tilt is a halo; negative tilt is a failo. It is still only one trait among many - see the PSL scale for how traits combine into a tier, or run the free facial symmetry test and the free PSL test for a broader estimate.
Canthal Tilt FAQ
What is canthal tilt?
Canthal tilt is the angle between the inner corner (medial canthus) and the outer corner (lateral canthus) of your eye. When the outer corner sits higher than the inner corner, the tilt is positive.
What is a good canthal tilt?
Most attractive faces measure roughly 4 to 8 degrees of positive canthal tilt. Around 0 to 3 degrees reads as neutral, and a negative tilt is generally considered a failo.
How do I measure my canthal tilt?
Take a straight-on, eye-level photo with a neutral expression. Open it in any image viewer that shows pixel coordinates, note the x and y of your inner and outer eye corner, and enter both points above.
Is negative canthal tilt bad?
Negative canthal tilt is one of several traits that can lower a PSL score, but it is only one input. Brow position, eye area support, midface length, and overall harmony matter as much or more.
Can canthal tilt be changed?
Non-surgically you can only change the appearance of the eye area through body fat, sleep, hydration, and brow grooming. Meaningful structural change requires surgical options, which are outside the scope of this free tool.
Is this canthal tilt calculator free?
Yes. It is completely free, runs in your browser, requires no signup, and nothing you enter is uploaded or stored.
